DigitALL support for digital Dance Archive

Together with Conny Janssen Danst and Dansateliers, we are joining forces to open up our archives to the public. Thanks to the grant from culture desk DigitALL, we can now get to work on this!

Thanks to this collaborative project (Rotterdam Dance Archives Online) between Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Conny Janssen Danst and Dansateliers, we can get to work on setting up a publicly accessible, online, Rotterdam dance archive. The contribution from Cultuurloket DigitALL will be used to develop a new central image bank, where the dance archives will be jointly accessible and the public can actively contribute and react themselves. This will be done through the implementation of an online tool (Digital Asset Management). This tool provides public access to the archive and supports crowdsourcing, allowing visitors to upload images and add information. The platform is accessible via mobile phone and requires no login or account creation.

'The Rotterdam Dance Archives Online' will give the public access to a digital archive of the history of Rotterdam dance.
