Erin Burley
‘Within circus, one of the best things is the sense of community. We are people who choose to do the strange thing in life, we run away from a stable income and dive headfirst into risky business, literally.’
She loves handstands because they offer both a structured discipline and endless opportunities for exploration. Unlocking new shapes and balances is incredibly addictive for her. Being naturally flexible, adding contortion elements to her handstands makes them even more exciting as she discovers new positions that seem almost impossible.
Flying, on the other hand, is very different for her; it’s about trust, breathing through tension, and letting go of control. Her favorite part of flying is jumping on the banquine—the challenge, adrenaline, and teamwork are simply fantastic!
