Shailesh Bahoran

Shailesh Bahoran (1983) has a background in urban dance. In his work he takes inspiration from his Hindu roots and creates meaningfull crossovers of urban and contemporary dance.

Shailesh is a versatile dancer and choreographer who is distinguished by his strong technique, originality and expressiveness. Although firmly rooted in hip-hop, he does not shy away from working out-of-the-box and is inspired by his Hindustani background. He has been making performances with his own collective Illusionary Rockaz Company since 2003. He previously collaborated with Dutch National Ballet, Don't Hit Mama, Conny Janssen Danst, The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the Amsterdam School of the Arts, Korzo and ISH Dance Collective.
