Diego Sinniger de Salas

Diego Sinniger is choreographer and artistic director of IN-motus co. and calls himself an artist without a label. He is passionate about any form of expression that deepens the sensitivity of the individual. He develops his movement from a technique he calls "muscular awareness" and takes his inspiration from contemporary dance, hip-hop, circus or even martial arts.

Diego began his training in the world of urban dance. He trained both in Spain and in New York. At the same time, he studied contemporary dance in Belgium, France, Spain and Germany and then danced with some of the most important companies in Catalonia and Spain.

In 2019, Diego Sinniger won the Scapino production award at the Rotterdam choreography competition RIDCC with his piece COMA.

RIDCC

Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC) is the largest choreography competition for duets in the world and, in addition to partner awards from renowned (inter)national companies, it also awards one of the largest dance prizes in the world; the XL Production Award. A production budget of 50,000 euros for a new work to be created.

More than 300 choreographers from nearly 50 countries participate annually. RIDCC was founded in 2018 by Scapino dancers Maya Roest and Mischa van Leeuwen, who together form the artistic directors.
